Terms of Use

Only individuals that have been properly issued with a user account by the Department of Education (Department) are permitted to access or use the:

·         PRISMS API Management Portal;

·         PRISMS Staging website; and

·         Department’s Application Programming Interfaces (‘APIs’)

collectively known as the PRISMS API ‘Staging Environment'.

User accounts will only be issued to personnel of organisations that have been invited to the Staging Environment by the Department and completed the sign-on paperwork. User accounts take the form of a vendor developer account – this user account and ID must not be shared outside the organisation.

Users must only use the Staging Environment for purposes which are relevant to that user's work and are primarily in the nature of developing and testing software to integrate with the Department’s IT systems. Users must not submit an individual’s personal information (such as their name, address, date of birth, etc), or any other information that may be considered commercial in confidence such as provider and agent information, into the Staging Environment.

Users must not undertake any actions that may negatively impact on the performance, availability, or data integrity of the Staging Environment. This website, and all material made available through the Staging Environment, including the APIs, is the property of the Department (unless indicated to the contrary), and must not be used for any illegal or unlawful purposes.

The Department may suspend or terminate a user's access immediately, without notice and for any reason, including where the Department suspects or determines that there has been unauthorised access or misuse of a user account, or an actual or suspected breach of these Terms of Use. The Department also reserves the right to clean data on a monthly basis or as required.

The Department is not responsible for any costs, loss, or legal liability (whether direct or indirect) arising from the use (or inability to use) the Staging Environment and APIs by any user. The Department takes no responsibility for any problems, failures or technical malfunctions of any telephone networks, online systems, servers, software or any other object related to the website, including any damage resulting from any access of material available through the Staging Environment, and to the fullest extent legally permissible, expressly disclaims any statutory or other warranty, including but not limited to guarantees of quality, availability or fitness for purpose. The Staging Environment is provided as-is - the Department does not promise any specific results from use of the website or APIs.

The Department may change these Terms and Conditions from time to time, without prior notice to you. Use of the Staging Environment after the date on which these terms have changed constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The effective date will notify you whether there have been any changes to the Terms and Conditions since your last use of the Staging Environment, and the Department will use reasonable efforts to notify you of any changes made from time to time.
